The Rideau Canal winds through some of the most
spectacular landscapes: rugged Canadian Shield, small outcrops
of islands dotted with gnarled pine trees, shores crowded with
Adirondack chairs and fishing lines of what is the quintessential
Ontario cottage country, pastoral farm lands, and lastly, Ottawa, a
city that offers everything from national galleries and museums to
outdoor markets and a vibrant night life.
Clear blue skies and calm coastal waters - we
couldn't have asked for better weather for the 2nd Annual Spring
Flotilla. Of course fog as thick as pea soup, torrential
downpours, and thunderstorms made the experience that much more
interesting.
After the
success of the 1st Flotilla, this year PDQ Yachts held an even
bigger event with 8 new boats captained by their owners
participating on the 11-day, 715 mile journey from Whitby, ON to
Annapolis, MD.

In the spring of 2001, PDQ launched the first powercat. Three
years later and we're getting ready to launch hull # 50 - making the
MV/34 Passagemaker the best selling North American
cruising power catamaran.
"Within 30
seconds of running the boat we knew we had a winner," said PDQ
President Simon Slater when he took the MV/34 for a sea trial in
Whitby harbour.
We
anticipate a full build schedule with 22 MV/34s slated for this year
alone. Be sure to visit our website to find out more about how we
build the MV/34. From the initial design and development work to
the hull assembly, mechanical and final commissioning you can now
see the various stages of our boat building process.
